Bad news for bondage fans (don’t lie, we know you’re out there), it looks like the plug has been pulled on the latest Saints Row: The Third expansion. THQ announced this morning that the stand alone expansion, Enter the Dominatrix, will not release for the third game in the series.
The good news, though, is that all that content won’t go to waste; THQ revealed that the material in the new expansion – which included an alien abduction plot and the introduction of superpowers – will instead be rolled into the next full release of the Saints Row series. THQ president Jason Rubin was behind the decision, reasoning that the wealth of ideas coming from Volition would better suit “a full-priced, full-length, high quality, connected experience” than an expansion. That experience, by the way, is tentatively scheduled for release sometime next year.
After just how much the developer upped their game with Third we wondered how exactly it could be possible to make things any more ridiculous. We now have our answer: Amoral, alien-killing, superpowered gang members. That tingle you’re feeling right now is no doubt your id throwing a party in your brain after reading the last sentence.
