Today was a big news day for fans of Sony’s upcoming mascot mash-up fighter Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale. First off, Sony’s official blog not only confirmed a release date (October 23) but also revealed a special pre-order bonus: exclusive alternate costumes available from the get-go for every fighter. A little standard, but it’s good to know that SuperBot’s finally starting to look into more ways to differentiate their product from Super Smash Bros.
As evidenced by the two highly conspicuous question marks, though, there’s more: Tonight at their EVO 2012 presentation, Sony and SuperBot also unveiled two more playable participants for PABR: Tekken headliner Heihachi Mishima (in a more youthful incarnation from the series’ earlier titles) and Toro Inoue, Sony’s mascot in Japan. Solid choices all things considered, but we get the feeling that the Sony faithful won’t quiet down until the likes of Jak or Ratchet are finally added to the game’s roster, whose size now sits at ten with no word of a final total.
